Milford is a city in Clermont and Hamilton Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, along the Little Miami River in the southwestern part of the state. Milford, an abbreviated form of mill ford, was so named because it was the first safe ford across the Little Miami north of the Ohio River, and was the only way for many people to reach the local oil mill. The Little Miami Bike Trail, which runs to Spring Valley, Ohio, begins here. The current Mayor of Milford is Kim McBeath.

Economy of Ohio:

Ohio is a major producer of machines, tires and rubber products, steel, processed foods, tools, and other manufactured goods. This is not immediately obvious because Ohio specializes in capital goods (goods used to make other goods, such as machine tools, automobile parts, industrial chemicals, and plastic moldings). Nevertheless, there are well known Ohio consumer items including some Procter & Gamble products, Smuckers jams and jellies, and Day-Glo paints.

Milford Business and Economy :

Milford provides an environment that encourages business development. Milford has convenient access to major transportation networks, available industrial sites and buildings, ample and excellent quality water supply, extensive municipal sewer system with excess capacity, and readily available electric and natural gas service. With a full time Town Planner, Town Engineer and Town Counsel, Milford offers efficient and customer-friendly administration of the regulatory and permitting process.

The quality of life in Milford is enhanced through the community’s efforts to preserve its rich historic traditions, promote business development in the Historic Downtown District, provide a school system that prepares its children for the challenges of a world economy, and provide services and programs for senior citizens. Milford also provides programs and facilities for active recreation enthusiasts, as well as open space and conservation lands for passive recreation. The Town’s housing stock is mixed and accommodates a full range of affordability.

The Prospectus is organized to highlight important aspects of doing business in Milford, including a profile of our community, a representative listing of businesses, information about transportation routes and utilities, an overview of federal, state, and local programs that offer financial and technical assistance to businesses, and an outline of the Milford Planning Board’s site plan review process.

A hotel is an establishment that provides paid lodging, usually on a short-term basis. Hotels often provide a number of additional guest services such as a restaurant, a swimming pool or childcare. Some hotels have conference services and meeting rooms and encourage groups to hold conventions and meetings at their location.

Basic accommodation of a room with only a bed, a cupboard, a small table and a washstand has largely been replaced by rooms with en-suite bathrooms and, more commonly in the United States than elsewhere, climate control. Other features found may be a telephone, an alarm clock, a TV, and broadband Internet connectivity. Food and drink may be supplied by a mini-bar (which often includes a small refrigerator) containing snacks and drinks (to be paid for on departure), and tea and coffee making facilities (cups, spoons, an electric kettle and sachets containing instant coffee, tea bags, sugar, and creamer or milk).
